I want to take this opportunity to wish you all the best of the holiday season. No matter what your faith or beliefs, this is a perfect time of year to reflect on the things that make our lives worth living. I hope, in the midst of everything that keeps you busy, that you have time to be with family and friends, and to be happy. As a songwriter, you have the chance to share something unique and wonderful with those you love. Your ability to put emotions to music allows your loved ones to experience something wonderful, something that is truly you.
The music you write is a representation of you: an image, in a sense, that will last forever. So for this coming year, why not think about writing songs for those you love. The personal connection that is formed is priceless. And because our world can seem at times to be so fraught with sadness, you have a rare ability to add happiness to people’s lives through your songwriting abilities.
Thanks to the many of you who have become my online colleagues and peers over the past year through this blog. I wish you the best of the season, and all the best for a wonderful 2011!
