Canadian Radio Star – National Songwriting Competition

Canadian Radio Star has announced their National Songwriting Competition for unpublished or self-published aspiring songwriters. The deadline for submissions is December 12, 2008. Applicants should send a CD with 1 to 3 songs with a typed lead sheet and contact info. The Grand Prize is $10,000, along with a TASCAM Digital Portastudio, a #5000 radio promotion package, and more.

 

In addition, C.R.S. is presenting songwriting workshops in cities across Canada during September and October. The workshops are free of charge, but have a limited capacity. Workshop presenters include Jim Vallance, who has written songs for Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Paul Anka, Tina Turner, Aerosmith, Heart, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Cocker, Ozzy Osbourne and others.
