I hope you have ample opportunity to rest and relax with family and friends this holiday season. And I hope you’ve been keeping your songwriting skills sharp. Holidays are a wonderful time to share your talent for writing. You know, with so much in the world that can make people sad or stressed, songwriters have a unique ability to keep people focused on the things in life that make people happy. As a songwriter, you have opportunities to remind others about the good you see around you.
So why not take the holiday season as your occasion to share your talent with others. Write someone a holiday song that tells them what they mean to you. Use your music to explain your faith and beliefs. Music has a way of entering people’s souls, a way that mere words often can’t.
I wish each and every one of you a joyous holiday season, no matter what your faith, and here’s to a successful year of songwriting for 2010!
All the best!
-Gary
