To all my friends, family, and readers of this blog, I wish you a very happy and successful 2022!
I may be an incurable optimist, but I believe better days are just around the corner for us. It’s been a difficult year – very hard for musicians to perform without jumping through hoops.
And no doubt, once we’re able to perform in front of large audiences again, it will take time for “normal” to come back. It will take more than rules, guidelines and protocols to give us normalcy again: it will take a trusting, confident audience, and that will take time.
But I really believe 2022 will be the year where we finally start to put COVID behind us, even despite the high numbers we’re seeing right now.
So because we’re still in the thick of dealing with this pandemic, I want to encourage you all to stay strong and think positive. Remember that through songwriting, you have an emotional outlet — a healthy way of expressing yourself that many others don’t have. Take advantage of it!
So I hope 2022 is the year when you write the best songs you’ve ever written, and when we finally turn the corner. In the meantime, stay strong, and let your songwriting be an encouragement to others.
